Privacy Policy

Tiny Minds is a learning app directed to children. We designed it to keep children's creations and profile information on their device, limit the information processed by our service providers, and use only child-appropriate, non-personalized advertising. This policy explains what is stored locally, what is processed by third-party services, and why.

Tiny Minds does not provide an account system operated by us and does not ask for a legal name, email address, phone number, photo, home address, or precise location. The app stores or processes the following information:

• Nickname and avatar choiceEntered or selected when a local profile is set up. They are stored on the device and are not included in analytics, advertising, or notification data sent to Google.
• Learning and progress dataActivities completed, levels, scores, stars, streaks, and similar progress information are stored on the device so a child can resume where they left off. Limited activity information is also processed through Google Analytics for Firebase as described below.
• DrawingsArtwork created in the Drawing section, saved locally on the device only.
• Temporary voice recordingsIf microphone permission is granted and the child uses the pronunciation recorder, short recordings are stored temporarily in the app's cache for playback. They are not uploaded to us or Google and are deleted when the activity is closed or its cache is cleared.
• Usage analyticsGoogle Analytics for Firebase processes events such as app launches, sections or activities opened, activity and game completions, scores or stars, session and retention milestones, and install-source information. It may also process app and device information, country derived from IP address, and an app-instance or installation identifier. We do not send a child's nickname, drawings, voice recordings, or contact information with these events.
• Advertising and technical dataGoogle AdMob may process IP address, general location derived from IP address, advertisement and app interactions, diagnostic information, and limited app or device identifiers to provide contextual ads, measure performance, and prevent fraud. Tiny Minds does not request or transmit the Android Advertising ID.
• Notifications and configurationFirebase Cloud Messaging and Firebase Remote Config may process a Firebase installation identifier, push-notification token, and basic app or device information to deliver notifications and app configuration. Notification permission is optional and can be disabled in device settings.
• Remote learning imagesSome vocabulary activities load illustrative images from Picsum Photos. Loading an image sends the requested image address and standard network information, such as IP address and basic device or connection information, to that service and its delivery providers. We do not send the child's nickname, drawings, recordings, or learning progress with these requests.

We use local information to run activities, play back a child's own pronunciation, save progress, and personalize the on-device learning experience. We use analytics and diagnostic information to understand feature usage, retention, app performance, and technical problems. Advertising data is used only to provide contextual, non-personalized ads, measure ad performance, and prevent fraud or abuse.

We do not use a child's nickname, drawings, voice recordings, or local learning history to target advertising. We do not create advertising profiles of children, use interest-based advertising or remarketing, sell children's personal information, or knowingly allow third parties to use Tiny Minds data for personalized advertising.

Tiny Minds is directed at children and is designed to comply with applicable children's privacy requirements, including the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) in the United States and the Google Play Families policies.

All Google Mobile Ads requests are marked for child-directed treatment and for users under the age of consent, and ad content is restricted to Google's General Audiences (G) rating. Personalized advertising, interest-based advertising, and remarketing are disabled. On Android, Tiny Minds removes the Advertising ID and Android Privacy Sandbox advertising permissions from the final app manifest.

We minimize data collection and do not ask children for a legal name, email address, phone number, photo, home address, or precise location. If we learn that personal information was collected from a child in a way that is not described here or not permitted by applicable law, we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

Google AdMob. Tiny Minds displays contextual, non-personalized advertisements provided by Google AdMob. Google may process IP address, general location derived from IP address, ad and app interactions, diagnostic information, and limited app or device identifiers for ad delivery, measurement, security, and fraud prevention. Tiny Minds does not request or transmit the Android Advertising ID.

Google Analytics for Firebase. We use Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used and to improve reliability and learning activities. Analytics processing can include app events, gameplay or activity outcomes, app and device information, country derived from IP address, install-source information, and app-instance identifiers. Advertising storage and ad-personalization signals are disabled.

Firebase Cloud Messaging and Remote Config. These services help deliver optional notifications and safely control app configuration, including whether ads are enabled. They may process Firebase installation identifiers, notification tokens, and basic technical information required to provide those services.

Picsum Photos. Some vocabulary activities request illustrative images from Picsum Photos. Its servers and content-delivery providers receive the requested image address and standard network information needed to return the image. Tiny Minds does not include local profile information, drawings, voice recordings, or learning progress in these requests.

Nickname, avatar choice, drawings, detailed local progress, and pronunciation recordings are stored on the device and are not transmitted to us or used for advertising. Temporary pronunciation recordings are cleared from the app's cache as described above.

Information sent to Google services and remote image services is encrypted in transit. Local information remains until it is changed or deleted in the app, the app's storage is cleared, or the app is uninstalled. Third-party service providers retain information according to their own terms, legal obligations, and retention policies. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we use reasonable safeguards and data-minimization settings appropriate for a children's app.

Parents can review or edit the local nickname and avatar in the app. Local profile, progress, drawings, and cached recordings can be removed by using available in-app controls, clearing the app's storage, or uninstalling the app. Notifications can be disabled at any time in device settings.

A parent may contact us to ask questions or request access to, correction of, or deletion of information where applicable. Because Tiny Minds does not operate user accounts or collect parent contact details inside the app, we may need information about the device or app installation to determine whether a request can be fulfilled. We will not require a child to disclose more information than is reasonably necessary to use an activity.
